Salesforce Marketing Cloud Review
Enterprise marketing automation on Salesforce with Agentforce AI across email, SMS, and web
Marketing Automation · Enterprise
Overview
Salesforce Marketing Cloud is now branded Agentforce Marketing, and the product line has been rebuilt around agents rather than renamed in passing. The current structure splits by motion: Marketing Cloud Next is the flagship, sold as Growth and Advanced editions per org; the B2C Agentic Marketing Platform carries the legacy Engagement (formerly ExactTarget) install base; B2B runs on Account Engagement, the former Pardot, or the Account Engagement+ edition; and Data 360 is the customer data platform underneath. Pricing, which used to be quote-only, is now published: Marketing Cloud Next Growth lists at $1,500 per org per month billed annually with Agentforce campaign creation, multi-channel journeys, forms, and landing pages, and Advanced lists at $3,250 per org per month, adding path experimentation and two-way conversations for SMS and WhatsApp. Salesforce Starter, at $25 per user per month, is the small-business entry with dynamic email marketing and analytics and a self-serve trial. Add-ons are priced separately and are not small: Personalization at $8,000 per month, Marketing Intelligence at $10,000, and Loyalty Management at $20,000, each billed annually per org, with existing-customer "+" editions from $1,250 to $15,000 per month. The AI layer is marketed as Agentforce rather than Einstein on the current pages: campaign creation, personalization decisioning, paid media optimization, AI campaign summaries, and loyalty promotion creation, with partner Qualified's Piper positioned as the AI SDR agent. Channels named on the product pages are email, SMS, and web, with Agentforce turning one-way sends into two-way conversations. For an org already on Salesforce CRM and Data 360 the case is straightforward. For everyone else, the costs are the edition price plus add-ons that can each exceed the base edition, annual billing paid in advance, and implementation work that assumes dedicated marketing operations staff.

Pricing
Salesforce Marketing Cloud is sold on enterprise contracts, from $1500/mo.
Per-org list pricing: Marketing Cloud Next Growth $1,500/mo, Advanced $3,250/mo, both billed annually; Starter $25/user/mo; add-ons Personalization $8K, Marketing Intelligence $10K, Loyalty Management $20K per month

How to install
- Start with Salesforce Starter at $25 per user per month if you want a self-serve path: it is the only tier on the pricing page with a 'try for free' option, and it includes dynamic email marketing and analytics plus lead routing.
- For Marketing Cloud Next, talk to sales. Growth ($1,500 per org per month) and Advanced ($3,250) are billed annually and paid in advance, and they license per org rather than per user.
- Model the add-ons before you commit to an edition. Personalization ($8,000 per month), Marketing Intelligence ($10,000), and Loyalty Management ($20,000) are separate line items, and existing customers can reach the same capability through the Intelligence+ ($11,000) and Personalization+ ($15,000) editions instead.
- Budget support as its own line: Standard is included in all licenses, Premier is listed at 30 percent of net license fees, and Signature is quoted by an account executive.
Best for
Organizations already running Salesforce CRM and Data 360 that need enterprise governance, per-org licensing, and agent-assisted campaign and personalization work across email, SMS, and web.
Not for
Small teams without dedicated marketing operations, and anyone who needs loyalty, personalization, or intelligence add-ons on a budget, since each is priced above the base Growth edition.
Review notes
Marketing Cloud is the enterprise benchmark, and what it is benchmarked for changed through 2025 and 2026: the current product pages sell agentic marketing on top of the CRM data model, and Journey Builder and Einstein no longer appear in the content we reviewed. The shape of the commitment has not changed: per-org licensing billed annually, add-ons priced separately, and an implementation surface that assumes dedicated ops. Assessed from Salesforce's published product and pricing pages.
The pricing page is now the most useful document in the sales cycle, because it publishes numbers that used to require a conversation: Growth at $1,500 per org per month, Advanced at $3,250, and add-ons from $8,000 to $20,000 per month each. Model the add-ons before the edition, since a single Personalization or Marketing Intelligence add-on costs more than the Growth edition itself, and the bundled "+" editions run to $15,000 per month.
Trials are the other asymmetry. Starter Suite and Pro Suite carry a self-serve 'try for free' path on the pricing page, while Growth and Advanced have no listed self-serve trial, are paid annually in advance, and sit behind an account executive. Success plans add a real cost line on top, with Premier at 30 percent of net license fees.
Verdict
The safest choice inside a Salesforce org with marketing ops headcount and an expensive one outside it; published per-org pricing now lets you model the real number before you call sales.

Is Salesforce Marketing Cloud a good Marketing Automation tool in 2026?
The safest choice inside a Salesforce org with marketing ops headcount and an expensive one outside it; published per-org pricing now lets you model the real number before you call sales.
Is Salesforce Marketing Cloud the same as Agentforce Marketing?
The product is being rebranded. Salesforce now presents it as Agentforce Marketing, with Marketing Cloud Next as the flagship, the legacy Engagement platform described as the B2C Agentic Marketing Platform, Pardot appearing as Account Engagement, and the customer data platform branded Data 360. Older material still uses Marketing Cloud and Einstein, so documentation, training content, and contractor experience can lag the current naming.
Is there a free trial for Marketing Cloud?
Only at the small end. Starter Suite and Pro Suite carry a 'try for free' link on the pricing page. Marketing Cloud Next Growth and Advanced list no self-serve trial: they are sold through sales, billed annually, and paid in advance, and the Premier success plan adds 30 percent of net license fees on top of the license.
